There are NO hidden Jacksons Lane charges. There are moderate extra costs but they do not generate ANY extra income for Jackson’s Lane.

-So what are they? -Membership of the club is free, but to continue after the first month, you need to get a licence and as you make progress, you will want to be graded.

What’s a licence? Well, your licence is a precious little red book that carries your current year’s licence and which contains your grading record. Sensei Robins passes your completed application form and fee on to the body which administers licensing and grading for our association.

What’s a grading? A Grading is a practical test of your karate skills. Gradings happen every three months to begin with, then they slow to every six months as you become a more advanced student. Your instructor will tell you when you are ready to grade: you will not be pressured into grading before you feel ready.-Guaranteed

So when do you pay for a grading? The fee is paid on the day, directly to the body which administers licensing and grading for our association. Successful students have to get themselves a new belt to indicate their grade but it is entirely up to them where they buy it.

Do I have to sign a contract, set up a direct debit mandate or buy my uniform from you?

NO! You pay for lessons when you attend the class. If you miss a lesson for any reason, you don’t end up paying for it. If you need a uniform, you will be able to get it from wherever you wish: club members will be happy to advise you and the club can get your uniform professionally embroidered with the club crest -and your name- at cost price as a service to members. Most folk call their uniform “Gi”.
