Legalese:
As you would expect, commonsensical terms and conditions apply: Karate is a physical activity and the club will need to be assured that a prospective member is able to safely take part in club sessions without risk to self or to other students. To this end, there is a section of the membership application form which covers this.
After one month of membership, the member is obliged to apply for a licence and to renew it annually. Again, the same commonsensical terms and conditions will apply.
Personal responsibility Members accept responsibility for the safety and well being of their fellows as a matter of course. Less obviously, members need to accept responsibility for their own safety and security as they progress through the grades towards more vigorous training activities: groin protectors are mandatory for males. In matters relating to personal protection equipment, club members may seek guidance as below.
